This is Aerotech’s down-the-line wave sail! This model has the
ability to hold power when needed, but remains neutral for transitions
or wave riding. The Charge has shed weight and gained strength since
previous years. The clew grommets have been replaced with stainless
steel rings to minimize weight, the strength lines running through the
window have had Technora threads sewn into them for strength, and the
upper panels on all models have been changed to a lighter weight
material to keep the weight low on the sail. The Charge features a
‘drop-clew’ design which allows for shorter boom lengths and improved
handling. The Charge continues Aerotech’s tradition of 100% grid
construction, and lots of color gives this sail a real “look at me!”
appeal. It is one of the most durable wave sails ever produced using
triple throw stitch seam construction. This sail has the new Tack Strap
II system that threads the tack strap through the downhaul pulley for
better tension with no inconvenience. Constructed with a 100% grid,
anti-chafe bumper in the head, raised stainless steel 6-1 pulley with
oversized rollers, thermo-formed base pad, interactive rigging guide,
rod battens, and Tack Strap II system.
